This application offers a comprehensive database of seating options, known locally in Swiss German as "Bänkli," intended for resting, relaxing, and enjoying the surroundings. In addition to benches, the platform includes categories such as fireplaces, playgrounds, and viewpoints, each supplemented with photographs of the location and the scenic view, providing users with detailed visual context. To date, over 6,000 points across Switzerland and other countries have been documented and made accessible through this service.

For individuals planning outdoor activities with elderly family members, this tool provides valuable insight into the availability of suitable resting spots along planned routes. Users can also contribute by adding new locations directly on the map during their walks, thereby enriching the data for future users within their community.

If you are aware of noteworthy locations not yet included, you are encouraged to add them to the database for the benefit of others. Please note that user-contributed points are exclusively stored within this application; however, there are intentions to export this information to OpenStreetMap in future updates—currently limited by GPS accuracy issues inherent to mobile devices.

Respecting Swiss privacy regulations, the app ensures that personal data is kept confidential. Only specific information such as the locations of benches will be shared or exported, in accordance with our privacy policy.
